Testimonials

Instructor:
Caleb Hutslar

Thank you so much for being so good at what you do! I have thoroughly enjoyed my jazz piano lessons with you. Your calm demeanor made me comfortable with making the many, many mistakes that jazz demands.

More than anything, I’d like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to begin learning to compose. As soon as I started taking jazz lessons with you, it was like my brain cracked open, and all my creative potential began to seep out. I know this isn’t always evident when I sight-read, but it’s amazing to see how this has made me a better writer, poet, linguist, and thinker – a better artist overall. I’m on a path that I’m really excited about, and I wouldn’t be here without jazz and without you.

Instructor:
Dr. Antoine T. Clark

My daughter Sophia started playing the clarinet during the Fall of 2022 and has been a student of Dr. Clark’s since the summer of 2023. His subtle yet charismatic approach to mentoring her early in her playing has challenged her to become a better clarinetist. Dr. Clark’s patience and encouragement have allowed my daughter to become not just a better musician but a better person. She would not accept any other music teacher/mentor than Dr. Clark to help guide her on her journey as a budding musician.
