James Becker serves as the Middle School and Upper School Band Director at The Wellington School in Columbus, Ohio. He holds a Master of Arts from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Northern Colorado.
In 2019, Mr. Becker was honored with the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Excellence in Education by the Upper Arlington Civic Association, recognizing his exceptional contributions to education.
Beyond his role at The Wellington School, Mr. Becker is a member of the Cathedral Brass quintet, and he is active as a freelance performer in and around Central Ohio.
Artist Statement
My goal is to cultivate a love for making music in each of my students. I strive to create a supportive and challenging environment where my students can develop artistically, technically, and personally.
